This ancient Ayurvedic treatment is a wonderfully relaxing health-care modality, which balances the body, mind and spirit and at the same time is revitalising for the feet and lower legs.
Ayurvedic Foot Massage is based on the Vatki, a small metal bowl made from copper and tin. Copper may help to reduce pain and inflammation while tin is believed to be helpful in digestion, relieving headaches and insomnia.
The massage follows a specific sequence working on the feet and lower leg. The treatment continues with special moves performed with the Kansa Vatki bowl with particular emphasis on marma points on the feet (Indian energy points, similar to acupressure).
This deeply calming session helps to draw out excess heat, and toxins, thereby leaving the entire body cool, refreshed and induces tremendous relaxation. Other benefits include relaxing and revitalising tired feet and legs, improving blood and lymphatic circulation, enhancing joint mobility in the lower legs and feet, reducing stress and anxiety, promoting sound sleep, relaxing tight muscles and calming the mind and body.
The treatment lasts for about 60 minutes.
